Manchester City have completed the transfer of Australia international midfielder Aaron Mooy, who joined from sister club Melbourne City. The 25-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City, according to a statement released by the Melbourne club. he scored 11 goals and delivered 21 assists during his first season with Melbourne and was named the club's Player of the Year every season since joining the team in 2014.
"Aaron is an extremely talented player who possesses the attributes we hope to foster and encourage within the City Football Group," Brian Marwood, Manchester City's managing director of football services said. "Aaron's move to Manchester allows us to further expose him to a high standard of opportunities to ensure his professional growth." The midfielder also has 16 caps for Australia and five goals scored for his nation.
Melbourne City head coach John van 't Schip said: "Aaron was a fantastic contributor. He is deserving of his new opportunity and we wish him all the best for the future." On the same day Manchester City confirmed that midfielders Luke Brattan and Anthony Caceres will head to Australia on loan at Melbourne until the end of next season. Aaron Mooy is the second signing of the summer for Manchester City after Boryussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan joined the Citizens for 21 million pounds.
