Premier League giants Manchester City are reportedly ready to spend a significant amount of money of Borussia Dortmunt striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The 28-year old is considered as one of the best forwards currently on the market and he has been constantly linked with moves away from Signal Iduna Park in recent years. This summer it seemed that French giants Paris Saint-Germain were in pole position for his signature but apparently the two parties have encountered difficulties in reaching an agreement, so Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are looking to seize the opportunity.
Aubameyang scored no less than 42 goals for club and country last season, including an impressive tally of 31 goals in 32 Bundesliga appearances. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has been Aubameyang's boss at Borussia Dortmund, was also interested in a deal for the Gabonese striker, but the Reds' interest cooled down eventually. Aubameyang scored 85 league goals for Borussia Dortmund in 128 appearances after having joined them from Saint-Etienne in 2013.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has won several awards during his career, including African Footballer of the Year in 2015 and Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2015-2016, while last season he earned the Bundesliga Best Goalscorer award with 31 goals. Manchester City already have a world-class striker in Sergio Aguero, but the signing of Aubameyang might give Pep Guardiola options to play Aguero in a different role. Aubameyang is 23/10 at PaddyPower to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer, 12/1 to join Manchester City and 10/3 to join any Chinese club.
