Premier League: Manchester City vs Liverpool preview
Manchester City host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday in the most interesting clash of the Premier League weekend. Liverpool won the reverse fixture 1-0 on New Year's Eve thanks to an early goal from Georginio Wijnaldum. Last campaign the Reds hammered the Citizens both home and away, they won 4-1 in Manchester and 3-0 at Anfield Road, but Manchester City did win the League Cup after a penalty shoot-out against Liverpool last season. Manchester City have suffered a bitter disappointment earlier this week as they got knocked out of the Champions League by French side AS Monaco. They had a 5-3 advantage from the first leg but lost 3-1 and crashed out of the competition due to the away goals rule. They have reached the FA Cup semi-finals last weekend, but their Premier League campaign is far more important than any cup consolation. Pep Guardiola doesn't have any fresh injury concerns ahead of this match, Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus remain the only unavailable players. Liverpool have picked up two consecutive Premier League victories after the disappointing 3-1 defeat at Leicester at the end of February, but they will need to extend that streak as long as possible in order to establish themselves in the top four. Last weekend they had to fight back to beat Burnley 2-1, with goals from Wijnaldum and Emre Can. Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge did not play in that match but they should recover before Sunday's game in Manchester. Dejan Lovren has returned to training after an injury of his own, but he will most likely have to pass a late fitness test before Sunday's match. Probable line-ups: Man City: Caballero - Zabaleta, Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy - Fernandinho - Sterling, De Bruyne, Silva, Sane - Aguero Liverpool: Mignolet - Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner - Wijnaldum, Can, Lallana - Mane, Firmino, Coutinho My prediction: 2-2 draw. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Man City win - 2.00 Draw - 3.75 Liverpool win - 3.80
