Everton have not beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford in their last 20 Premier League meetings but this one will be special as it will be the first match for David Moyes against his former team. The Red Devils boss took over from Sir Alex Ferguson in July after an 11-year spell at Goodison Park, during which he established Everton firmly in the top half of the Premier League table.
The manager had a rough start at United though, just three wins in his first eight Premier League matches, but made amends with a 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions. However, United are 8th in the Premier League table, an unacceptable position for the Red Devils. The United manager is expecting a win against Everton and is fully aware that they need to keep pace with league leaders Arsenal, currently nine points clear of the Red Devils.
"We have to win all of our games. I'm concerned we're not as close as we'd like to be to Arsenal but it's a long season and hopefully we'll be there or thereabouts," Moyes said. "There are a lot of games to go. I think the Premier League is tight and we'll try to stay on the shirt-tails and put ourselves in a good position at the start of next year."
Midfielder Michael Carrick (calf) is sidelined for United, while Everton will miss Leighton Baines (toe), Arouna Kone (knee) and Darron Gibson (knee). Everton thrashed Stoke City 4-0 on Saturday but Baines' absence surely is a big blow. Here are the odds for Wednesday's clash at Bet365:
Manchester United win - 8/11
Draw - 29/10
Everton win - 17/4
