Barely out of their losing streak, Manchester United face a tough test on Saturday as they play host to defending champions Leicester City at Old Trafford. The two sides have already met in the Community Shield this season, with Jess Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring in a 2-1 victory for United. Last season both meetings ended with the same score line: 1-1.
Manchester United have snapped their three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Northampton in the League Cup this week, but that was a lower league team and now it's back to playing with the big boys for Mourinho and company. Before that, the Red Devils had lost to rivals City and to Watford in the Premier League, either side of a defeat against Feyenoord in the Europa League. Luke Shaw, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial are fitness doubts for Saturday's match.
Leicester lost to Chelsea in the League Cup this week, despite having taken a two-goal lead. However, Claudio Ranieri rested most of his preferred starting eleven for that match and is expected to bring them back this weekend. So far the Foxes had mixed results, they lost to Hull and Liverpool but they did manage to kick off their first ever Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win at Bruges. Nampalys Mendy is the only injury concern for Ranieri ahead of this match.
Probable line-ups:
Man United: De Gea - Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind - Herrera, Carrick, Pogba - Mata, Ibrahimovic, Rashford
Leicester: Zieler - Hernandez, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs - Mahrez, Amartey, Drinkwater, Albrighton - Slimani, Vardy
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
