West Ham United have found themselves a new manager: former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini. The 64-year-old signed a three-year contract with West Ham on Tuesday after having left his job at Chinese side Hebei China Fortune last weekend. West Ham United decided last week not to give a new contract to former manager David Moyes, who steered the club away from relegation last season. Manuel Pellegrini will be joined at West Ham by assistant Ruben Cousillas.
"Manuel brings a reputation for attacking football and getting the best out of his players," said West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan. "We believe he will attract new talent to the London Stadium as well as improving the current squad. Above all, he is a winner, who knows what it takes to succeed at the highest level and is driven to continue that success. Manuel is the first West Ham United manager to have a Premier League title on his CV, and we believe that his experience, quality and proven record of taking teams forward quickly will ensure that he is successful here."
Chilean Manuel Pellegrini became a household name in Europe at Spanish sides Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga before moving to Manchester City, where he managed to win the Premier League title during his first season in charge and the League Cup twice. Then he signed a very lucrative deal with Chinese side Hebei China Fortune but now he decided to take a pay cut in order to return to the Premier League. West Ham finished 13th in the Premier League last season, despite having started the campaign with European qualification ambitions.
West Ham are currently 9/4 at SkyBet to finish inside the Premier League top half next season.

So, with the choice of Pellegrini the club management clearly stated they're after an attractive and attacking style of play which is what the former City boss is known for, whether that would suit the squad they have is another theme though. Maybe they'll be nice on the eye next season but let's see...either that or they would be in big trouble I could imagine.
