Premier League: Nani pens new Manchester United contract
Manchester United Portuguese winger Nani has signed a new five-year contract, keeping him at the club until June 2018. Nani, aged 26, has scored 40 goals in 217 games for Manchester United, joining from Portuguese top-flight side Sporting Lisbon in 2007. He has also managed to win eight trophies with the club, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League. Nani said: "Playing at United has been a fantastic experience for me. When I came to the club, I never imagined the success we have enjoyed." There had been speculation about his future at the club, after he managed only seven Premier League starts in 2012-13. He has also missed most of United's pre-season matches due to a nose problem but it seems he did enough to impress new manager David Moyes. His contract was due to expire next summer. "I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years," Moyes said. "He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years. I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons." Nani came off the bench during Sunday's 1-0 defeat by Liverpool to make his first appearance under Moyes. Nani added: "I'm very happy that the new manager has shown this faith in me and I'm looking forward to helping the team compete for more honours this season." Manchester United will return to action on September 14 when they host Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Here are the odds for that match at Bet365: Manchester United win - 2/11 Draw - 6/1 Crystal Palace win - 12/1
