Manchester United are looking for a world-class striker to add quality to their attack and they have made an attempt to grab Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata. The Red Devils have made an offer worth around 52 million pounds for the Spanish striker but Real Madrid rejected the bid. It is believed that the Blancos want a lot more for the striker, something around 78 million pounds. Real Madrid had wanted to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea but for now Manchester United have not included a possible exchange in the offer.
Alvaro Morata scored 20 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid last season as Zinedine Zidane's men clinched the LaLiga title and also the Champions League crown. Manchester United also have a backup plan in case they can't reach an agreement with Real Madrid for Morata, they have set their sights on Torino Italian forward Andrea Belotti. However, Belotti has a pretty high release clause in his contract: 100 million euros. Belotti, aged 23, scored 28 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions last season.
Alvaro Morata has started his career at Real Madrid, came through the ranks of their youth academy and made his first-team debut in 2010. He was then sold to Italian champions Juventus, where he had two very good seasons. He won two Serie A titles, two Italian Cups and also played the Champions League final with the Bianconeri. Real Madrid bought him back last summer and he managed to become a very important member of Zinedine Zidane's successful squad last season.
Alvaro Morata is 1/1 at SkyBet to join Manchester United this summer and 4/1 to remain at Real Madrid.
