West Ham United winger Samir Nasri is unsure of his future with the Hammers, he joined them in January on a six-month contract and he hasn't been offered an extension yet. When West Ham signed Nasri the French midfielder was returning to action after an 18-month doping ban, so he was desperate to get himself back into the spotlight. The 31-year-old midfielder made six appearances for the Hammers, including a substitute display in the 4-3 victory over Huddersfield at the weekend. In that match the Frenchman helped his team fight back from 3-1 down to claim the three points.
About the chances of getting a new contract at West Ham, Nasri said: "I don’t know about my future. The most important thing for me was to come back, which I did in January. Then I got an injury because I wasn’t used to playing week in, week out when I have been out of the game for so long. Now the manager takes his time with me. I have seven games left and I just want to play free of injury and then we will sit down and see what is next." West Ham are currently ninth in the Premier League table and they have a real chance of qualifying for next season's UEFA Europa League if they manage to beat Wolves and Watford to seventh place.
About the match against Huddersfield, in which Nasri provided an assist for Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, the French winger said: "I think it was a crazy game. Sometimes you can be complacent when you play a team that is bottom of the League. When you concede one or two goals then it is difficult to react unless you make changes. That is what the manager did. Chicharito scored two goals and I helped so it was good. He is a poacher - you have to play him in the box. He is really smart, ‘sneaky’ if you like." Manager Manuel Pellegrini was happy with Nasri's contribution on Saturday, the Chilean boss admitted that the French midfielder "changed the game".
West Ham are 4/5 at Betfair to finish inside the Premier League top ten this season.
