West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic will have a bit more time to turn things around at the club, the owners will not sack him yet despite last Friday's 3-0 defeat against Brighton. The 49-year-old manager will remain in charge at least for the next two matches and if things go well he will keep his job. During Friday's match the fans booed the team and thousands of them left the stadium early as the Hammers were not showing any sign of fighting back against Brighton.
The Hammers have two difficult matches ahead of them this week, first they take on Tottenham in the League Cup on Wednesday and then travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday. Before Friday's defeat West Ham co-owner David Sullivan said the club were going to respect their contract with Bilic unless things get "desperate". After the match Bilic took responsibility for the result: "I don't want to hide behind anything. It's my responsibility and it's up to the board." West Ham started the season with three consecutive defeats, but then managed to gather eight points from the following five games.
"We've been here before and we managed to turn it around," said Slaven Bilic, who was appointed as West Ham boss in June 2015. "I'm not worried - worried is a bad word. I am strong and all that and on the other hand it's not a question for me about my future. I know what I feel. I can't say everything publicly. I've tried my best but when you lose 3-0 at home to Brighton I wouldn't be surprised with anything." Slaven Bilic is under contract with West Ham United until the end of the current season.
Slaven Bilic is 11/4 at SkyBet to become the next Premier League manager to lose his job, Everton's Ronald Koeman is 1/4 to get sacked first.
