Liverpool can extend their unbeaten streak in all competitions to seven games on Wednesday, but they will face a tough trip at the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City. Last season the Reds won 2-1 at Stoke City after having secured a 4-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign. Liverpool have won five of the last six Premier League meetings against the Potters, who have not beaten the Reds in a league match since 2015. The two teams have also met in the semi-finals of the League Cup in 2016 and the Potters prevailed after a penalty shoot-out.
Stoke City had a three-match unbeaten streak going on before last weekend, but they lost 2-1 at Crystal Palace and dropped to 15th place in the Premier League table, just three points clear of the relegation zone. They have won just three matches all season, and two of those wins were at home. Moreover, they have not won a match at the Bet365 Stadium since September. Jack Butland and Stephen Ireland are injured and won't be able to play in Wednesday's match, while Glen Johnson and Geoff Cameron are doubts.
Liverpool seemed capable to grab all three points against Chelsea at Anfield Road last weekend after Mohamed Salah had put them ahead, but a late goal from Willian gave Chelsea a share of the spoils. The Reds have not lost a match since the 4-1 defeat at Tottenham in October and are sixth in the Premier League table, fourteen points behind leaders Manchester City. Dejan Lovren and Emre Can are injury doubts, while Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Bogdan remain long-term absentees.
Probable line-ups:
Stoke: Grant - Zouma, Shawcross, Wimmer - Diouf, Allen, Fletcher, Pieters - Shaqiri, Jese - Choupo-Moting
Liverpool: Mignolet - Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Klavan, Robertson - Wijnaldum, Henderson, Coutinho - Salah, Firmino, Mane
My prediction: Liverpool to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
