Everton have made an offer worth 40 million pounds for Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson but the Swans turned down the bid because they value the player at 50 million pounds. The Iceland midfielder, aged 27, has scored nine goals last season and delivered 13 assists. Leicester City also tried to sign Sigurdsson this summer but their offer of 40 million pounds was rejected as well.
Sigurdsson is the highest paid Swansea player and has another three years on his contract. He re-joined the club in 2014 after a two-year spell at Tottenham and scored 30 league goals for the Swans since then. The Iceland midfielder has enjoyed the best years of his career at the Liberty Stadium and he doesn't really want to leave the club for a new adventure, especially after he didn't manage to do so well at Tottenham between 2012 and 2014.
Everton have been quite active on the transfer market this summer as they have already signed signed goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, defenders Cuco Martina and Michael Keane, midfielder Davy Klaassen and strikers Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez. They have also sold two of their best players as Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United and Gerard Deulofeu made his return to Barcelona.
Everton are 11/4 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.

I just can't understand why Spurs never gave a decent chance to Sigurdsson during his spell there when he was often man of the match even when came in from the bench for about 15 mins a game. I guess Pochetino is not that great after all...
