Premier League: Swansea replace Francesco Guidolin with Bob Bradley

Swansea city have decided to sack Italian manager Francesco Guidolin right on his 61st birthday and also announced the name of his successor: American coach Bob Bradley. Guidolin was in charge for a little less than nine months and he becomes the first Premier League boss to lose his job this season. The Swans have had a rough start to the campaign as they have not won a single match since the opening day victory over Burnley. Guidolin leaves Swansea 17th in the Premier League table. Bob Bradley, aged 58, is currently managing French second division club Le Havre but had plenty of experience as a national team coach as he managed the United States team for five years before a two-year spell at the Egypt national team. He has won the MLS Cup with Chicago Fire in 1998 and the CONCACAF Gold Cup with the United States National team back in 2007. His only experience in Europe before Le Havre was a one-year spell at Norwegian outfit Stabaek. Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "We are delighted Bob has agreed to join us. He is highly regarded as a coach and has a wealth of experience on the international and domestic front. He is well aware of the club's footballing philosophy and will provide us with strong leadership qualities and a renewed belief to compete at this level. It is never easy changing managers, but we are looking at a long-term appointment and we are confident Bob can settle us down and stabilise matters on and off the pitch." Swansea are 2/5 at Bet365 to avoid relegation this season.
