Premier League: Swansea vs Manchester City preview
Premier League leaders Manchester City are looking to further extend their record-breaking winning streak when they travel to the Liberty Stadium to face struggling Swansea on Wednesday. The Citizens won both league meetings against Swansea last season, 3-1 away and 2-1 at home, and also defeated them 2-1 in the League Cup. Overall, Manchester City have won ten of the last thirteen direct matches in all competitions, while Swansea have grabbed just one victory, in 2012. Swansea finally ended an eight-match victory drought in all competitions with a 1-0 home victory over West Bromwich Albion last weekend. That was their third Premier League victory of the season, so they remain stuck in the relegation zone for now. They have scored just nine goals in sixteen league matches, the weakest scoring record in the Premier League this season. Kyle Bartley is the only injury worry for Swansea manager Paul Clement, as Federico Fernandez has finally returned to training and was on the bench last weekend. Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-1 last weekend to become the first Premier League side to record fourteen consecutive wins and they have also consolidated their place at the top of the table. The Citizens have won all but one Premier League matches this season and scored 48 goals in the process, by far more than any other team in the top flight. Vincent Kompany got injured again, so he will join Benjamin Mendy and John Stones on the sidelines for a while. City will face Tottenham next weekend, so manager Pep Guardiola might choose to rest a few players for that match. Probable line-ups: Swansea: Fabianski - Naughton, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson - Ayew, Fer, Mesa, Sung-yueng, Routledge - Bony Man City: Ederson - Danilo, Otamendi, Mangala, Delph - De Bruyne, Toure, Gundogan - B. Silva, Aguero, Sane My prediction: Manchester City to win 3-0. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Swansea win - 15.00 Draw - 6.50 Man City win - 1.25
