The Premier League season kicks off on Friday and this would be the right moment to have a look at the betting options in the Golden Boot ante post market. Tottenham striker Harry Kane has won the top goalscorer award in the last two seasons and he could become the first player since Thierry Henry to win this award three times in a row. He will have very tough competition this season as some high-profile strikers switched clubs and some new faces arrived in the Premier League.
Harry Kane is the bookmakers' favourite at the moment, he is 3/1 at Bet365 to become the Premier League top goalscorer once again. He has scored a massive 75 goals in the last three Premier League seasons, despite spending quite some time on the sidelines due to injuries. Tottenham have not been active on the transfer market this summer, but it is quite clear that Harry Kane will remain at the club. Romelu Lukaku finished second in the Golden Boot rankings last season, four goals behind Kane, but now he is at Manchester United instead of Everton so his chances to score would be a lot greater. The Belgium forward is 4/1 to win the Golden Boot this season.
Manchester City also have two strikers that have potential to challenge for the top goalscorer award: Sergio Aguero and youngster Gabriel Jesus. However, it is unclear whether Pep Guardiola intends to play them both in the starting eleven or pick just one between them for a starting place. Sergio Aguero is 7/1 to become the Premier League top goalscorer, while Gabriel Jesus is 9/1 to win the award. New Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is also among the favourites, he is a prolific striker and if he adapts quickly to the Premier League he could well be a big hit. Morata is 10/1 to win the award. Last but not least, Arsenal also have two important contenders for this award: Alexis Sanchez and new signing Alexandre Lacazette. Sanchez scored 24 goals last season and he is 14/1 to win the award, while Lacazette is 12/1 to become the top goalscorer.
