Tottenham face Bournemouth at White Hart Lane on Saturday in a match that the Spurs have to win if they want to keep the Premier League title dream alive. The reverse fixture ended goalless in October, while last season Tottenham beat Bournemouth in both league matches, 5-1 on the road and 3-0 at home. Bournemouth have not beaten Tottenham since an FA Cup victory all the way back in 1957.
Tottenham have a seven-game winning streak in all competitions going on, and Chelsea are seven points ahead of them in the Premier League table with seven matches left in the season. A late push for the title is still possible for the Spurs, even though it's difficult to believe that Chelsea will drop so many points in the last matches of the season. Last week Tottenham hammered Watford 4-0, even without star striker Harry Kane in the starting line up. The England forward will return in the starting eleven this weekend, but Danny Rose remains sidelined along with Erik Lamela.
Bournemouth could have helped Tottenham last weekend but the Cherries lost 3-1 at home against Premier League leaders Chelsea. Bournemouth dropped to 15th place due to that defeat and are not yet certain of their Premier League survival as the relegation zone is just seven points away. The Cherries would probably need to collect five more points in the last six games of the season to guarantee their survival. Callum Wilson, Adam Federici and Andrew Surman are still on the injured list, while Dan Gosling is a fitness doubt.
Probable line-ups:
Tottenham: Lloris - Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies - Dier, Dembele - Son Heung-Min, Eriksen, Alli - Kane
Bournemouth: Boruc - Smith, Francis, Cook, Daniels - Fraser, Arter, Wilshere, Pugh - King - Afobe
My prediction: Tottenham to win 2-0.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
