Premier League leaders Liverpool are hoping to extend their winning streak to five games but they face probably their toughest test of the season so far as they visit Tottenham at Wembley Stadium on Saturday at noon. Last season Tottenham crushed Liverpool 4-1 in London with a double from Harry Kane, while the reverse fixture ended 2-2 and that time it was Mohamed Salah who scored a double. Overall, Liverpool have won two of the last six direct meetings in all competitions, Tottenham grabbed just one win and the other three were draws.
Tottenham started the season with three consecutive wins, including a comfortable 3-0 triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford, but their winning streak was broken just before the international break as they lost 2-1 at high-flying Watford. Son Heung-Min has now returned from international duty in Asia and might be an option for Mauricio Pochettino's attack, while Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli, Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela are all injury doubts ahead of Saturday's match. Juan Foyth and Vincent Janssen are injured and will surely miss out.
Liverpool are flying high so far this season, with four wins out of four matches, just one goal conceded and nine scored. However, their opponents so far were West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester, none of them competing for the higher places in the Premier League hierarchy. The match at Wembley is the first real test for Jurgen Klopp and his team this season, and if they pass it then the hopes for the title will most likely increase significantly. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana are injured and won't be available for this match.
Probable line-ups:
Tottenham: Lloris - Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen - Trippier, Eriksen, Dier, Alli, Davies - Moura, Kane
Liverpool: Alisson - Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson - Milner, Wijnaldum, Keita - Salah, Firmino, Mane
My prediction: 1-1 draw, the two teams seem evenly matched.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Tottenham win - 2.87
Draw - 3.50
Liverpool win - 2.30
