Premier League: Tottenham vs Liverpool preview

Premier League leaders Liverpool are looking to extend their amazing winning streak to twelve games when they visit Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday. The Premier League winning streak started for the Reds with the reverse fixture against Tottenham, they won it 2-1 and then went on to win all the following ten league matches. Liverpool have won the last four direct matches against Tottenham, including last season's Champions League final in Madrid.

Tottenham have been struggling quite clearly in recent games, they have won just one of their last five games in all competitions and have not recorded consecutive wins since November. They started 2020 with a 1-0 Premier League defeat at Southampton and last weekend they snatched a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough in the third round of the FA Cup. Manager Jose Mouriho has to deal with a rather long list of injured players at the moment, Moussa Sissoko will be out until April following knee surgery and Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies and Tanguy Ndombele are also sidelined.

Liverpool can't seem to stop winning, they have won 19 of their 20 Premier League matches so far this season and they are running away with the title. They even had a pretty tough schedule after Christmas, they faced second-placed Leicester on Boxing Day, then Wolverhampton and Sheffield United and last but not least local rivals Everton in the FA Cup. They won all those games, scoring eight goals and conceding none. Nathaniel Clyne, Fabinho, James Milner and Naby Keita are out injured, while Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Xherdan Shaqiri are close to their returns but they might not be risked yet.

Probable line-ups:

Tottenham: Gazzaniga - Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen - Dier, Winks - Lamela, Alli, Moura - Son

Liverpool: Alisson - Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson - Chamberlain, Henderson, Wijnaldum - Salah, Firmino, Mane

My prediction:

Such a strong Liverpool can't be stopped by such an inconsistent Tottenham, I think the Reds will win 2-0.
