Premier League top-four contenders Tottenham are desperate to bounce back from their recent results when they host Southampton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday. Last season the Spurs defeated Tottenham 3-1 at home, but the Saints got revenge in the reverse fixture with a 2-1 victory. Tottenham have won the last three home matches against Southampton, but the Saints did collect a victory in London against them in 2016.
Tottenham seem to be failing on all fronts lately, their poor streak started with the 2-2 draw against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League, continued with a 2-1 defeat at Leicester in the Premier League last weekend, and reached its climax this week, when the Spurs lost on penalties against League Two side Colchester. They have already lost two Premier League matches this season and never managed to put together a winning streak since the start of the campaign. Giovanni Lo Celso is out injured and won't be back until November, while Ryan Sessegnon could recover in time for this match.
Southampton had a decent start to the season, even though they have lost three of their six Premier League matches so far. They collected two victories, though, both away from home: at Brighton and at Sheffield United. They have also managed to reach the fifth round of the League Cup after having recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory at Portsmouth this week. Last weekend the Saints got beaten 3-1 at home by Bournemouth. Moussa Djenepo is still unavailable for the visitors, while Alex McCarthy is doubtful.

My prediction:
Tottenham have no choice but to win this game, any other result could plunge the club into a crisis. Southampton are pretty good away from home but this time I think the Spurs will win 2-1.
