Premier League: Tottenham vs West Ham preview
Tottenham are looking to extend their winning streak to four games when they face fellow London side West Ham United at Wembley Stadium on Thursday. The two teams have already met twice this season: Tottenham won the reverse Premier League fixture 3-2 in September but one month later West Ham United grabbed their own 3-2 victory over the Spurs in the League Cup. In the last two season each of the two teams secured victories in the direct home matches, while the record of the last ten direct matches in all competitions shows a slight advantage for West Ham with five victories compared to Tottenham's four. Tottenham bounced back nicely during the festive period, they were coming from a painful 4-1 defeat at Manchester City but they went on to secure three consecutive wins since December 23rd and scored ten goals in the process. On Tuesday the Spurs secured a 2-0 victory at bottom side Swansea but they need to beat West Ham as well in order to get closer to the top four. Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose are injured and won't be able to play on Thursday, while manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to assess his squad's fitness carefully as they play their second match in three days. West Ham started 2018 with a much-needed win, they defeated West Brom 2-1 on Tuesday to end a run of three games without a win. The Hammers are still just one point above the relegation zone, so the struggle will have to continue regardless of what happens at Wembley on Thursday. Manager David Moyes has plenty of injury concerns ahead of this match as James Collins, Michail Antonio, Sam Byram, Jose Fonte, Edimilson Fernandes and Diafra Sakho are all sidelined and Aaron Cresswell might also miss out. Probable line-ups: Tottenham: Lloris - Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies - Sissoko, Winks - Son Heung-Min, Alli, Eriksen - Kane West Ham: Adrian - Reid, Ogbonna, Rice - Zabaleta, Noble, Kouyate, Masuaku - Lanzini, Ayew - Carroll My prediction: Tottenham to win 2-0. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Tottenham win - 1.28 Draw - 6.00 West Ham win - 12.00
