Manchester City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, but they will have a difficult match at West Ham on Wednesday. The Citizens have already beaten the Hammers twice this season, first 3-1 at home in the Premier League and then 5-0 away in the FA Cup in January. West Ham have not beaten Manchester City in London since 2014.
With the Dimitri Payet drama finally over and the French midfielder back at Marseille, West Ham can now focus on their football even without their star player. They have won their last two matches, 3-0 at home against Crystal Palace and 3-1 at Middlesbrough, moving up to tenth place and away from eventual relegation worries for now. Andre Ayew is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, but new signing Jose Fonte will most likely make his debut for his new club.
Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace in the FA Cup last weekend, but their Premier League form is still a reason for worry as they won just one of the last four games and lost two in the process. Last time out they threw away a two-goal lead in the 2-2 home draw against Tottenham, but they did play well in that match and probably deserved to win it. Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus picked up knocks during the FA Cup match but they should be able to recover before Wednesday's game.
Probable line-ups:
West Ham: Randolph - Byram, Fonte, Reid, Cresswell - Obiang, Noble - Antonio, Lanzini, Feghouli - Carroll
Man City: Bravo - Zabaleta, Otamendi, Stones, Clichy - Toure, Fernandinho - De Bruyne, Silva, Nolito - Aguero
My prediction: Manchester City to win 4-2.
