Premier League: Wilfried Zaha wants to leave Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace star winger Wilfried Zaha has informed the club that he wants to join a bigger side this summer, with the prospect of playing European football and maybe be in contention to win some silverware. The information was revealed by SkySports, who have revealed that Zaha has made his feelings known to the club upon his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, where he played for Ivory Coast. Arsenal have made an offer worth 40 million pounds for Zaha earlier this summer but the bid was rejected by Crystal Palace.

Wilfried Zaha is believed to be Arsenal's top transfer target this summer, the winger has impressed head coach Unai Emery last season when he scored the winning goal for the Eagles in a 3-2 victory over the Gunners. Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson hinted that they would be willing to sell Zaha, but Arsenal would have to come with a much better offer. "I don't think Arsenal have actually made a bid that has come anywhere near our valuation," Hodgson said. "I'm sure the player realises that if someone's going to take him away from us, he'll expect clubs to pay the market value. Until someone does that, there's not much to discuss regarding Wilf."

Zaha had his chance to impress at a bigger club a few years ago, he joined Manchester United for 15 million pounds from Crystal Palace and was regarded as one of the hottest prospects at the club. He failed to make an impact, though, he only made four appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils and was sold back to the Eagles. Last season he scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for Crystal Palace in all competitions.

Arsenal have made just one signing so far this summer as 18-year-old Gabriel Martinelli joined from Brazilian club Ituano. Wilfried Zaha is 4/6 at BetFred to join Arsenal this summer and 7/2 to move to Everton before the transfer window closes.
