RaceBets.com has been granted a German horse betting license as “the first bookmaker to fully comply with new regulations”, according to the racebook.
The company now holds licensing in Malta, UK, Ireland and Germany.
“We are delighted and exceptionally proud to be the first German bookmaker to receive the licence,” Patrick Byrne, managing director for RaceBets said. “The decision vindicates all the effort and hard work that has been carried out by the whole team, over the last few years, to achieve this milestone.”
RaceBets was previously approved for German licensing in September 2014 but the process was put on pause due to legal action brought about by unapproved applicants.
“Our customers will not notice much change,” Byrne said, “but it is a confirmation that due to the strict German regulations, especially in the areas of data security and player protection, we are held in high regard.”

I think it's a big advantage for them especially when we know how powerful is the market there. Obviously the new relegation's are very strict and it's tough for many other companies to be licensed and operate in Germany.
