We'll have a fierce battle in Serie A on Saturday, when fourth-placed AC Milan host seventh-placed Lazio at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The reverse fixture, played in November, ended 1-1 as Joaquin Correa leveled the score in the 94th minute for Lazio after Wallace had put AC Milan ahead with an own-goal. The two sides have also met in the semi-finals of the Italian Cup, so far only the first leg has been played and it ended 0-0 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. Last season AC Milan won 2-1 at home after a 4-1 defeat in Rome and also defeated Lazio on penalties in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
AC Milan are desperate to finish inside the top four this season, even though they might miss out on the Champions League due to their failure to comply with the financial fair play regulations. However, until a final decision will be taken by UEFA, the Rossoneri will fight for their place in the top four. Last week AC Milan lost 2-1 at champions Juventus, and that result left them in fourth place, tied on 52 points with Atalanta and just one point ahead of sixth-placed AS Roma. AC Milan have lost three of their last four matches and have not won a game in more than a month. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is out injured, along with Lucas Paqueta and Giacomo Bonaventura.
Lazio are still in the race for a top-four finish, they are down in seventh place but fourth-placed AC Milan are just three points ahead and Lazio have a game in hand on the Rossoneri. Last week Lazio missed a very good opportunity to narrow the gap towards AC Milan and Atalanta as they got held to a 2-2 draw at home by Sassuolo. However, they can count themselves lucky with that result as Senad Lulic netted the equalizer in the 95th minute. Lazio have won on their last trip to Milan, they secured a 1-0 victory over third-placed Inter at the end of March. Jordan Lukaku, Milan Badelj and Valon Berisha are injured for the away side.
Probable line-ups:
AC Milan: Reina - Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez - Kessie, Bakayoko, Calhanoglu - Suso, Piatek, Cutrone
Lazio: Strakosha - Felipe, Acerbi, Radu - Romulo, Alberto, Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic - Correa - Immobile
My prediction: Lazio to win 2-1, AC Milan have been in terrible form lately while Lazio have been looking quite lively.
