Striker Mario Balotelli returns to the Serie A on a permanent deal after several seasons abroad, he has decided to join newly-promoted side Brescia on a multi-year contract. Balotelli had spent most of his childhood in the province of Brescia and started his youth career at Lumezzane, a small town that is just 20 kilometers away from Brescia. The Italian striker was out of contract after having been released by Marseille this summer.
Mario Balotelli has won the Serie A title with Inter Milan in 2010, under the guidance of head coach Jose Mourinho. Then he moved to Manchester City, where he mixed impressive performances with controversial gestures. He did score 20 league goals in 54 matches over two and a half seasons for the Citizens before being sold back to Italy, at AC Milan. He scored 30 goals in 54 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri and then moved back to the Premier League, this time at Liverpool.
He lasted just one season at Anfield, scoring just 4 goals in 28 competitive matches before being shipped back on loan to AC Milan. The next adventure for Balotelli came in 2016, when he moved to Ligue 1 side Nice. He had two great seasons with them, scoring an impressive 43 goals in 76 appearances before joining Marseille last January. He only made 12 appearances for Marseille, scoring 8 goals.
Brescia have won the Serie B last season but now they will have to fight to avoid relegation. They have brought in no less than nine new players this summer, but they are 10/11 at William Hill to get relegated this season.
