Serie A leaders Napoli have a tough test on Sunday evening as they travel to Milan to face fifth-placed Inter at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The reverse fixture, played in October, ended goalless and it was part of unbeaten streaks for both sides in the first half of the season. Overall, Napoli have won three of the last six direct matches in all competitions, while Inter have tasted victory on two occasions. Last season Napoli managed to win 1-0 at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium thanks to a goal from Jose Callejon.
Inter seem to be slowly recovering from their eight-match winless streak but they will need a solid performance if they want to get past Napoli. Last time out they defeated last-placed Benevento 2-0 in Milan, but a week before that they lost at mid-table side Genoa. Inter have not played last weekend as their match was postponed following the tragic death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori, so they remain just one point behind fourth-placed Lazio but with a game in hand.
Napoli are feeling the pressure now, the Serie A title is within reach but Juventus are just one point behind and the Bianconeri also have a game in hand. Last weekend Napoli had the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table but somehow Juventus pulled off a 1-0 victory at Lazio thanks to a last-gasp goal from Paulo Dybala and hours later Maurizio Sarri's men lost 4-2 at home against AS Roma after a run of eleven league matches without defeat. Faouzi Ghoulam and Vlad Chiriches are injured, but striker Arkadiusz Milik has recovered and will probably get some minutes of play from the bench.
Probable line-ups:
Inter: Handanovic - Cancelo, Miranda, Skriniar, D'Ambrosio - Gagliardini, Vecino - Candreva, Brozovic, Perisic - Icardi
Napoli: Reina - Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Rui - Allan, Jorginho, Hamsik - Callejon, Mertens, Insigne
My prediction: Napoli to win 3-1.
