Defending champions and current Serie A leaders Juventus have a difficult test on Saturday evening as they host in-form AC Milan at Allianz Stadium in Turin. Juventus won the reverse fixture 2-0 in October thanks to a pair of goals from Gonzalo Higuain, but since then AC Milan have improved a lot. Juventus have won the last three direct matches and nine of the last ten Serie A games against AC Milan. Moreover, the Rossoneri have not won an away league match against Juventus since 2011.
After a troubled start to the season, Juventus have managed to get back to their familiar spot at the top of the Serie A table and are now aiming confidently for a seventh consecutive title. However, they got held to a surprising goalless draw at Spal before the international break, so rivals Napoli are just two points behind with nine matches left to play this season. Girogio Chiellini was unable to play for Italy during the international break and he remains an injury doubt ahead of Saturday's match, while Federico Bernardeschi and Juan Cuadrado are also expected to miss out.
AC Milan have improved significantly under new head coach Gennaro Gattuso, they have won their last five Serie A matches and have moved up to sixth place, just five points behind fourth-placed Inter. However, they suffered a big disappointment in the Europa League as they got hammered 5-1 on aggregate by Arsenal, so the only chance to qualify for the Champions League remains finishing inside the Serie A top four. Andrea Conti and Ignazio Abate are the only injury concerns for the away side.
Probable line-ups:
Juventus: Buffon - De Sciglio, Benatia, Rugani, Asamoah - Pjanic, Matuidi - Costa, Dybala, Mandzukic - Higuain
AC Milan: Donnarumma - Calabria, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Rodriguez - Bonaventura, Biglia, Kessie - Suso, Cutrone, Calhanoglu
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
