Rivals Juventus and Fiorentina meet at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Wednesday in one of the most interesting Serie A matches of the week. Last season reigning champions Juventus beat Fiorentina 2-1 in Turin, but the Viola got revenge in the reverse fixture and won by the same scoreline. However, Juventus have been dominating Fiorentina lately as they have won four of the last five direct matches. Fiorentina have not defeated Juventus in Turin in a Serie A match since 2008.
Juventus have a perfect record in Serie A so far, four wins out of four matches, but they haven't met any of the big teams yet. In fact, they did have problems in big matches at the start of the season as they lost the Super Cup to Lazio and got hammered 3-0 at Barcelona in the Champions League. Marko Pjaca, Mattia De Sciglio, Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira are all injured and will sit this one out. Head coach Massimiliano Allegri usually rotates most of his squad but he might stick to his best eleven for this one.
Fiorentina had a terrible start to the season with back-to-back defeats in the first couple of matches of the campaign, 3-0 at Inter and 2-1 at home against Sampdoria. They recovered with a 5-0 victory at Verona after the international break and last weekend they recorded a 2-1 home victory over Bologna. New head coach Stefano Pioli is trying to build a competitive team this season but the fans will surely love to cause rivals Juventus some problems. Riccardo Saponara is still recovering from a knee injury and this match might come too soon for him.
