Serie A: Lazio vs Juventus preview

Serie A: Lazio vs Juventus preview

Serie A champions Juventus are hoping to bounce back from last week's slip-up but they will have a very tough match on Saturday, when they visit in-form Lazio at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. Last season Juventus managed to win both matches against Lazio, 2-0 in Turin and 2-1 in Rome. The Bianconeri have won the last three direct meetings, and overall they have won four of the last six. Lazio have not won a home match against Juventus in Serie A since 2003.

Lazio are going through their best moment of the season, they have won their last four matches in all competitions and seven of their last eight competitive games. In Serie A they have collected six consecutive wins and have not lost since September, when they got beaten 1-0 at league leaders Inter. Last week Lazio won 3-0 at home against Udinese with a double from star striker Ciro Immobile. They are expected to field the same starting eleven against Juventus, as Adam Marusic, Patric, Jordan Lukaku and Valon Berisha are still out with injury problems.

Juventus had their own six-game winning streak in all competitions going, but it ended unexpectedly last week as they got held to a 2-2 draw at home by Sassuolo. That result allowed Inter to leapfrog the Bianconeri at the top of the table, so Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates can't really afford any more slip-ups at the moment. Goalkeepeer Wojciech Szczesny is expected to return between the sticks on Saturday after Gianluigi Buffon let in two goals last week, while Sami Khedira, Giorgio Chiellini, Douglas Costa, Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot are all injured.

Probable line-ups:

Lazio: Strakosha - Felipe, Acerbi, Radu - Lazzari, Milinkovic-Savic, Leiva, Alberto, Lulic - Correa, Immobile

Juventus: Szczesny - Cuadrado, Bonucci, De Ligt, Sandro - Bentancur, Pjanic, Matuidi - Bernardeschi - Dybala, Ronaldo

My prediction:

Lazio are very tough to beat at the moment, I don't think Juventus can get more than a 1-1 draw in this match.
