Serie A runners-up Napoli have completed their second signing of the summer as Fenerbahce midfielder Eljif Elmas will join the club for a transfer fee of 16 million euros. The 19-year-old North Macedonia international has been on Napoli's radar all summer as the club were looking to replace Amadou Diawara, who was sold to AS Roma. Fenerbahce are set to receive another 1.5 million euros in performance bonuses and another 1.5 million euros if Napoli sell Elmas in the future.

Wish you a future full of success," a Fenerbahce statement read. "We believe that our footballer will represent Fenerbahce and our country in the best way in his new team." Elmas joined Fenerbahce from North Macedonian side Rabotnicki in 2017. Last seaspon he scored 4 goals in 29 league appearances as Fenerbahce finished sixth in the Turkish top flight. He made his debut for the senior North Macedonia national team at the age of 17.

Napoli have already signed AS Roma central defender Kostas Manolas for 36 million euros this summer and they also completed the transfer of goalkeeper Alex Meret from Udinese for 22 million euros. Manager Carlo Ancelotti is also chasing Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, they had worked together at the Blancos and the Colombian star would be happy to reunite with his former boss. The manager confirmed that he wants James Rodriguez to join Napoli but admitted that the deal is difficult to complete because other clubs are interested as well.
Napoli finished second behind champions Juventus last season and now they are 6/1 at Bet365 to win the Serie A title next season.
