Defending champions Juventus will be looking to grab their second consecutive win when they visit Palermo on Saturday. The Bianconeri will surely be confident after having beaten the Sicilians in their last eight direct meetings. The last time Palermo beat Juventus was five years ago and that also was the last time they managed to score a goal against the Italian champions. Last season Juventus won 4-0 at home and 3-0 in Palermo.
After a few seasons in and around the European qualification places, Palermo are back in the struggle to avoid relegation. They started the season by being knocked out of the Italian Cup in the first round and then recorded two draws and two losses in the Serie A until finally grabbing their first win of the season this week, when they beat Atalanta 1-0.
Aleksandar Trajkovski, Michel Morganella, Robin Quaison and Slobodan Rajkovic are all injured and will not feature.
Juventus are in their familiar position, at the top of the Serie A table, but they are no longer unbeaten this season. After three consecutive wins they got beaten at Inter last weekend, but they recovered right away with a 4-0 thumping of Cagliari this week. Claudio Marchisio, Patrice Evra and Medhi Benatia are injured but head coach Massimiliano Allegri has plenty of options to choose from.
Probable line-ups:
Palermo: Posavec - Goldaniga, Gonzalez, Andjelkovic - Rispoli, Hiljemark, Gazzi, Henrique, Aleesami - Diamanti - Nestorovski
Juventus: Buffon - Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini - Alves, Khedira, Lemina, Pjanic, Sandro - Higuain, Dybala
My prediction: Juventus to win 2-0.
