Lazio are looking to record their fifth consecutive Serie A victory when they visit Sassuolo at Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia on Sunday. Last season Sassuolo managed to hold Lazio to draws in both Serie A matches, 1-1 at home and 2-2 in Rome. Before last season Lazio had a four-game winning streak against Sassuolo going on. Sassulo have defeated Lazio both at home and away during the 2015-2016 season.
Sassuolo are looking capable of yet another mid-table finish this season, after having finished 11th in the last two seasons and 12th three seasons ago. They have won four of their eleven matches so far and are sitting in 13th place, with a game in hand on the other mid-table teams. Before the international break they recorded a 3-1 home victory over Bologna, their third home victory in six matches this season. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has a pretty long list of injured players and star striker Domenico Berardi was added to that list after having picked up a knock while on international duty with Italy. Rogerio, Gianluca Pegolo, Gian Marco Ferrari, Luca Mazzitelli and Vlad Chiriches are also out of contention.
Lazio have been in pretty good form this season, even though they seem to have sacrificed the UEFA Europa League progress in order to focus on their Serie A games. In the Europa League they lost three of their four matches, but in Serie A they are on a four-game winning streak and are currently in third place. They have also won their last two away matches, at Fiorentina and AC Milan, and are really hoping to finish inside the top four this season and qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Adam Marusic is the only injury concern for the visitors.

Lazio are in very good form, and even though Sassuolo have been showing good signs lately, I think the visitors will win 2-1.
