Verona are looking to cause a second consecutive upset in Serie A when they face defending champions Juventus at Marc'Antonio Bentegodi Stadium on Saturday. The Bianconeri won the reverse fixture 2-1 in September, Miguel Veloso opened the scoring for Verona in the first half and then Juventus fought back with goals from Aaron Ramsey and Cristiano Ronaldo. Overall, Juventus have won four of the last six direct meetings, but three of those wins were in Turin. Verona have lost just one of their last four home matches against Juventus.
Verona pulled off an upset in midweek as they held in-form Lazio to a goalless draw in Rome, that result extended their unbeaten run to seven games and allowed them to move up to tenth place in the league table. Relegation should not be a concern for them at this point, and they could really hope to push for an European spot as they are just two points behind sixth-placed Bologna. Head coach Ivan Juric doesn't have any injury concerns ahead of this match, but his players might deal with some fatigue after having played on Wednesday.
Juventus are in a hot title race this year, Inter and Lazio are not far behind the league leaders so any slip-up could prove quite costly. Last week the Bianconeri recorded a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Fiorentina with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, recovering from a 2-1 defeat at Napoli the week before. Juventus are three points clear of second-placed Inter and four lengths ahead of Lazio. Giorgio Chiellini, Sami Khedira, Merih Demiral and Danilo are all out injured for the defending champions.
Probable line-ups:
Verona: Silvestri - Rrahmani, Kumbulla, Dawidowicz - Faraoni, Amrabat, Veloso, Lazovic - Zaccagni, Pessina - Verre
Juventus: Szczesny - Cuadrado, De Ligt, Bonucci, Sandro - Bentancur, Pjanic, Rabiot - Ramsey - Dybala, Ronaldo
My prediction:
This will be a very difficult match for Juventus, Verona are very well-organized and will surely prove a tough nut to crack. However, Juventus have amazing strength in attack and I think they will manage to get a 2-1 win.
Here are the odds for the match at NetBet:
Verona win - 6.50
Draw - 4.04
Lazio win - 1.59

Just prior to this game Verona have been drawing away to Lazio 0-0 and that should of been a worrying sign for the Juventus team but obviously they didn't manage to win that one anyway. Probably Juventus have been a bit unlucky in this game but certainly they can't blame their luck entirely but have to improve as a team creating more chances, they look entirely depending on the Ronadlo goals now and if it's not his day..well that means trouble.
