An announcement came this week from online gambling group Sportingbet regarding the appointment of Marie Stevens as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
With her extensive gaming industry experience, Stevens will be quite an addition to the team. Prior to this she spent 10 years within Ladbrokes, lately as Head of the Group Legal department, and she was also a member of the Gaming Board for Great Britain and the International Association of Gaming Regulators. Another one of her significant positions was that of non-executive director and then chairman of 888 Holdings plc at the time of its IPO. She currently holds the position of the chair of the Global Leaders in Law.
It was commented by Peter Dicks, chairman of Sportingbet: "Marie brings experience and knowledge of the gaming industry in general, and of the legal and regulatory frameworks in a number of jurisdictions, including the US, and their respective licensing processes and requirements. We are delighted to welcome her to the Company and look forward to leveraging her expertise."
