Sportium, the official betting partner of Spanish football’s La Liga competition, has recently partnered with international betting brand, ESSA. Sportium, which was created in a collaboration between Ladbrokes and Cirsa, serves as the fourth operator to join ESSA in 2016. Other groups to join the team earlier in the year, include Russia’s Fonbet, Greece’s Stoiximan, and Sporting Index. With this latest addition, ESSA has officially reached a membership which includes 22 regulated members, extending its overall reach in the business.
Secretary general of ESSA, Khalid Ali, commented, “Sportium is a major player in the Spanish market and I’m delighted they have decided to join ESSA. The continuing growth in our membership base is a clear sign of the increasing recognition of many major operators to the significant advantages that can be achieved from acting in partnership with ESSA to identify, disrupt and report betting related fraud.”
Product and trading director of SPORTIUM, Mark Fowler, added, "Sportium has a number of important business partnerships with the sporting sector, highlighted by our sponsorship of one of the world’s foremost sporting competitions in La Liga. We therefore place great value in maintaining the integrity of sport and to preventing fraud in betting markets.”
Fowler continued, "Sportium’s link-up with ESSA underlines our commitment to that and to protecting our business and consumers from the adverse impact of illicit betting activity.”
In addition to its recent membership with the international brand, the Spanish-facing entity also serves as sponsor of the National Indoor Football League and Spanish Basketball Clubs Association.
