UEFA Champions League: Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain preview

French giants Paris Saint-Germain resume their quest for UEFA Champions League glory on Tuesday evening, when they visit Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park for the first leg of their last-sixteen tie. The two sides have last met in 2010 in the UEFA Europa League group stage, and back then both matches ended with draws, 1-1 in Dortmund and 0-0 in Paris. This time we should see goals, considering the amount of talent that both teams possess in attack.

Borussia Dortmund recovered from two consecutive defeats in all competitions with a comfortable 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Eintracht Frankfurt last week. Before that they recorded a 4-3 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen but overall they scored no less than 22 goals in their last five league matches. Many of those were scored by January signing teenage sensation Erling Haaland, who netted eight UEFA Champions League goals in six matches for his previous club, RB Salzburg. Marco Reus is still sidelined for the home side, while Thomas Delaney and Julian Brandt are doubts.

Paris Saint-Germain are having fun in Ligue 1, they should win the title quite easily despite having recorded a silly 4-4 draw at Amiens last week. They are undefeated in their last 23 matches in all competitions and have won 20 of them. They have scored 21 goals in their last five matches in all competitions and have a healthy ten-point lead over Marseille at the top of the Ligue 1 table. Neymar has not played in the team's last four matches but he is expected to feature in Tuesday's game, Presnel Kimpembe and Abdou Diallo are doubts, while Colin Dagba is expected to miss out.

Probable line-ups:

Dortmund: Burki - Piszczek, Hummels, Akanji - Hakimi, Can, Witsel, Guerreiro - Hazard, Haaland, Sancho

PSG: Navas - Meunier, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Bernat - Di Maria, Verratti, Gueye, Neymar - Mbappe, Icardi

My prediction:

I expect a spectacular match between these two teams, it will most likely end with a 2-2 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at NetBet

PSG win - 2.15
