Leicester City will be looking to extend their Champions League winning streak and also book their place in the first knockout round when they visit FC Copenhagen on Wednesday evening. The Foxes won the only previous meeting between the two sides last week, when a goal from Riyad Mahrez gave them a 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium. The last time FC Copenhagen managed to defeat an English side was back in 2006 when they pulled off an upset by defeating Manchester United 1-0 at Parken Stadium.
FC Copenhagen are cruising in the Danish Superliga, they have ten wins and five draws out of fifteen matches and they are comfortably leading the league table. Their Champions League campaign was not too bad so far either, they had a win and a draw before the defeat at Leicester. They have a solid chance of qualifying, but since they are tied on 4 points with FC Porto, they have to get anything they can before the direct clash with the Portuguese outfit. Bashkim Kadril and Danny Amankwaa are injured and will most likely miss out.
Leicester City have a perfect Champions League record so far, three wins out of three games, five goals scored and none conceded. They are on a three-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, a run which started with the victory over FC Copenhagen and ended with last weekend's 1-1 draw at Tottenham. Claudio Ranieri's men seem to have regained some confidence after a rather shaky start to the season, but they are still all the way down in 11th position in the Premier League table. Nampalys Mendy is still injured but Islam Slimani should recover after having missed last weekend's Premier League match.
Probable line-ups:
Copenhagen: Olsen - Ankersen, Zanka, Johansson, Augustinsson - Verbic, Delaney, Kvist, Toutouh - Santander, Cornelius
Leicester: Schmeichel - Hernandez, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs - Mahrez, King, Drinkwater, Albrighton - Slimani, Vardy
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Copenhagen win - 2.30
Draw - 3.30
Leicester win - 3.50
