FC Porto face a nearly impossible task as they travel to Turin for the second leg of their Champions League clash with Italian champions Juventus, the Portuguese side need to overcome a two-goal deficit on Tuesday in order to progress to the quarter-finals. Juventus won the first leg 2-0 in Portugal with goals from Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves, and that was their second consecutive win against FC Porto. In fact, the Portuguese have never beaten Juventus in a European competition.
Juventus have not lost a match since the middle of January, they collected eleven wins and just one draw since losing the Serie A match against Fiorentina. That great streak puts them in pole position for yet another Serie A title and they are also strong favorites for making the Champions League quarter-finals as well. Last week they had a tough Serie A match against AC Milan but eventually collected all three points thanks to a penalty kick converted by Paulo Dybala in stoppage time. Stefano Sturaro is out injured, while defensive duo Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli will have to face late fitness tests before Tuesday's match.
FC Porto bounced back after the first-leg defeat against Juventus and collected three consecutive wins in the Portuguese top flight, scoring 12 goals and keeping a clean sheet in the process. The caliber of the opponents can not be compared with the likes of Juventus though and leaving Turin unbeaten might look like a reasonable target for FC Porto. Alex Telles is suspended for this match after getting sent off in the first leg, but there are no further absences in the visitors' camp.
Probable line-ups:
Juventus: Buffon - Alves, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro - Pjanic, Khedira - Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic - Higuain
FC Porto: Casillas - M. Pereira, Felipe, Marcano, Layun - D. Pereira - Corona, Torres, Brahimi - Soares, Silva
My prediction: Juventus to win 2-0.
