A huge Champions League clash takes place on Tuesday in Turin as Serie A champions Juventus host Premier League side Tottenham at the Allianz Stadium. This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams in an European competition. However, the two sides have met in summer friendly matches in 2016 and 2017, Juventus won the first one and Tottenham tasted victory in the second. Juventus have won 18 of their 44 matches against English teams, while Tottenham won 5 of 15 games against Italian opposition but just one out of eight away from home.
Juventus have been in top form lately, they have won their last eleven matches in all competitions and have not lost a game since November. Their group stage campaign has not been without worry this season, they finished second behind Barcelona in Group D after having won just three of their six matches. Last week they secured a good 2-0 victory at rivals Fiorentina to remain just one point behind Serie A leaders Napoli. Juan Cuadrado and Blaise Matuidiare injured and will miss out, while Paulo Dybala and Andrea Barzagli could recover in time.
Tottenham are full of confidence at the moment after having secured a 1-0 victory over rivals Arsenal in the North London Derby last weekend. Moreover, the Spurs have not lost a match since the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City on December 16, a streak of 12 matches without defeat. They are now just four points behind second-placed Manchester United in the Premier League. Manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn't have any injury concerns ahead of this match, so he will most likely field the same starting eleven that defeated Arsenal at the weekend.
Probable line-ups:
Juventus: Buffon - Lichtsteiner, Benatia, Chiellini, Alex Sandro - Khedira, Pjanic, Marchisio - Bernardeschi, Higuain, Mandzukic
Tottenham: Lloris - Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies - Dier, Dembele - Eriksen, Alli, Son - Kane
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
