Monaco have a solid advantage to defend when they face Borussia Dortmund at Stade Louis II on Wednesday in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-finals clash. The French side played a very good first leg and walked away with a 3-2 victory last week in Dortmund thanks to a double from teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe. Dortmund have limited the damage in the second half with goals from Ousmane Dembele and Shinji Kagawa, but that might not be enough.
Monaco have won their last four matches in all competitions, including last week's 2-1 Ligue 1 victory over Dijon. They are still at the top of the Ligue 1 table with a three-point advantage over rivals Paris Saint-Germain, the title race will probably go down to the wire. Tiemoue Bakayoko makes his return from suspension but Fabinho will miss out after having picked up a yellow card in the first leg. Sidibe, Guido Carrillo and Boschilia are injured and will not play in Wednesday's match.
Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways last week with a 3-1 Bundesliga victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, but they remain fourth in the league table. However, they will play Champions League football next season even if they finish fourth, so there isn't much to be worried about there. Marco Reus has made his return from injury and will most likely play on Wednesday, but Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle and Marc Bartra are injured and won't be a part of Thomas Tuchel's plans for the trip to Monaco.
Probable line-ups:
Monaco: Subasic - Toure, Jemerson, Glik, Mendy - Silva, Moutinho, Bakayoko, Lemar - Mbappe, Falcao
Dortmund: Burki - Piszczek, Sokratis, Ginter, Schmelzer - Weigl - Pulisic, Castro, Dembele, Reus - Aubameyang
My prediction: Monaco to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
