Tottenham face a major test to their European ambitions as they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu to face the mighty Real Madrid on Tuesday evening. The two sides have last met in the Champions League quarter-finals back in 2011 and Real Madrid prevailed quite comfortably with a 4-0 victory at home and a 1-0 success at White Hart Lane. Before that, the two sides had met in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 1985 and Real Madrid won that tie as well with a 1-0 victory in London and a goalless draw in Madrid.
Real Madrid have been struggling in LaLiga this season, they have already lost a match and drew twice, but their Champions League record is perfect so far. They started with a comfortable 3-0 victory at home against APOEL and then did well to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in Germany. Last weekend they barely squeezed past Getafe 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas is the only injury doubt ahead of this match, while Gareth Bale, Dani Carvajal and Mateo Kovacic will surely miss out.
Tottenham are unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions and have not conceded any goals in their last three games. Last weekend they secured a 1-0 home victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League. In the Champions League they started with a good 3-1 home victory over Borussia Dortmund and then confirmed it with a 3-0 triumph at APOEL. Moussa Dembele, Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama are injury doubts ahead of this match, while Dele Alli is suspended. Eric Lamela and Ben Davies are also expected to miss out.

It was really curious clash - at least on paper. Spurs defended their name of really quality side by not loosing the game and more so they've had the lead for a long time in it. In the end great result for Spurs and not too bad for Real, obviously both teams should qualify for the next round without too much troubles.
