Two sides that have impressed in their domestic leagues recently will clash in the Europa League on Tuesday when Borussia Dortmund host Premier League title contenders Tottenham. The two sides have never met in an official competitive match before. The only previous encounter was a friendly match back in 2008, won by Tottenham 3-0. The situation is a whole lot different now as both sides are trying to reach the final of the Europa League and have a shot at winning the trophy.
Borussia Dortmund recorded a creditable 0-0 draw against Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich last weekend. Thomas Tuchel's men are just five points behind Bayern in second place, so a title bid is still on the table, at least in theory. However, it's hard to believe that Bayern will drop many more points from here to the end of the season. Borussia have the second position all but secured, so they could focus more on the Europa League from now on. Greek defender Sokratis Papasthatopoulos will be unable to play due to an injury.
Tottenham recorded a 2-2 draw in the North London derby against Arsenal last weekend, a rather frustrating result for the Spurs considering that the Gunners played with 10 men for around 40 minutes. The result left Tottenham 5 points behind leaders Leicester City, still in with a great chance to win the title at the end of this crazy season. Jan Vertonghen, Clinton N'Jie and Danny Rose are all injured while Dele Alli is suspended. Mauricio Pochettino will most likely field the best eleven that he can as Spurs have a rather easy Premier League match on Sunday at bottom side Aston Villa.

Dortmund have a nice season in the Bundesliga and they could fully go for that one. 3-0 says it all before the second game. I think Spurs will not play their first 11 in the rematch as well, because all ready they've lost the chances for qualifying and they are involved in huge PL battle.
