Online payments firm Skrill has become a sponsor of the three divisions of the UK Football Conference in a deal which will last for three years.
On the position Skrill has replaced Blue Square, whose sponsorship expired in May this year, and the deal will see the Conference's divisions rebranded as The Skrill Premier, The Skrill North and The Skrill South.
"We've confirmed to member clubs that we will shortly be circulating the financial benefits," said Conference director Colin Peake, while Conference chairman Brian Lee commented: ”Skrill is a worldwide brand. I am sure they will during their time as title sponsor become well known throughout the game, let alone the Football Conference.
“Skrill joins us at a very exciting time [and] I ask our clubs in turn to embrace Skrill and work with them.”
On behalf of Skrill, its group chief executive Siegfried Heimgaertner said: “By teaming up with the Football Conference we want to bring non-league football to more fans and enable them to support and access their local team in new and exciting ways. In our view the Football Conference is the most dramatic league in the UK and we are proud to be its title sponsor for the next three seasons.”
