The state of daily fantasy sports in The United States is still a source of contention so the timing couldn't be better for market leading DraftKings to further expand into the UK market by scoring sponsorship deals with English Premier League football clubs Watford, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Although the financial details have not been publicly disclosed, the word is that the company was quite persuasive in pursuing the clubs.
The contracts will see DraftKings build its brand awareness by appearing in a number of marketing initiatives running in the stadium as well as the club's digital and social channels.
Players can make the most of the sponsorship by taking part in various promotional activities offering club experiences, match day tickets and other exclusive prizes.
Jason Robins, co-founder and chief executive of DraftKings said, “Our ambition is to bring players as close to the action as possible, with all the information they need to assemble the best teams. To do that, we are partnering with some of the biggest names in football here in the UK.”
“The reality in the UK is that DraftKings will bring a totally new experience for sports fans, especially those of Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford.
“We offer our players the opportunity to test their skill at fantasy contests with the immediacy of daily play.

DraftKings chief international officer Jeffrey Haas said the move was "an element of risk mitigation" due to the circumstances with the legalities of DFS in the US.
"When we're looking to increase revenues around the world, we also recognize the fact our bottom line may shift in other markets," he said.
