Premier League side Everton have completed the transfer of versatile midfielder Fabian Delph, who joins the Toffees from defending champions Manchester City for a fee of just 10 million pounds. The 29-year-old midfielder signed a three-year deal with Everton and has already joined Marco Silva's squad on their training camp in Switzerland. Delph still had another year on his contract with Manchester City but would most likely have been a backup player at the Etihad Stadium next season.
Fabian Delph is an England international, he has 20 caps and has featured both at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and at the UEFA Nations League final four. Delph made 22 Premier League appearances for Manchester City in the 2017-2018 season and during the last campaign he only appeared 11 times in the Premier League. He even played as a left-back at the Citizens when needed, but now he is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City have signed Atletico Madrid central midfielder Rodri for 60 million pounds this summer, so the chances for Delph to be in the first eleven would have been quite slim next season.
"The club that I've been at has had success, especially in the last two seasons, but over the last four years we managed to win trophies," Fabian Delph said after the transfer was officially announced. "I wanted to be playing more regularly and the opportunity to come and play for Everton was too good of an opportunity to turn down." Everton have already signed midfielder Andre Gomes earlier this summer, but manager Marco Silva wanted Delph as well. "When I look to bring a new player into our squad, the first thing I look for above all the other things is quality and Fabian is a player with high quality," said Marco Silva. "But what they can bring to our dressing room is also important and if you can put those two things together then that can only be good for the club."
Everton finished eighth in the Premier League last season and now they are 7/2 at Bet365 to finish inside the top six.

Certainly Delph will bring one thing to Everton and that's experience, but whether that would be a successful move for them is about for us to see in future. I wasn't sure if this is the right kind of signing for the Toffees but you can't do much wrong bringing in a player with a good reputation for just 10 mill, that looks like a bargain I must admit.
